Mike Tamas, Vice President of Training

Mike Tamas
Mike Tamas is the Vice President of Training for American Financial & Automotive Services, Inc.'s Automotive Training Academy. Mike's retail career began in 1985. Starting as an automotive salesperson, Mike used his skills to advance to the positions of business manager and sales director. Mike put his retail experience and can-do attitude to work, helping dealerships to develop their full potential. Mike's focused, hands-on approach teaches real-world, sound tactics that result in increased volume and profit. Mike shares his knowledge with dealers through in-dealership training and by speaking at numerous state conventions and 20 groups.

Mike spoke at the 2007 NADA Convention in Las Vegas, NV and at the 2009 NADA Convention in New Orleans, LA. In addition, Mike was a subject matter expert and appeared in the 2008 NADA video Creating a Special Finance Operation: Doing it Right.



Dwayne Wiggins, Training Division

Dwayne Wiggins
Dwayne Wiggins began his automotive career in 1988 at a Houston-area dealership, and has been an invaluable member of the Automotive Training Academy team for five years. Throughout his 22 years in the industry, Dwayne has held the positions of salesperson, assistant fleet manager, director of accessories department, sales manager and sales director for new and used cars. Dwayne continuously works with multiple state dealer associations and has written articles appearing in various automotive publications including NCADA Flashes, MTADA News Bulletin, GMMDA Sparkplug, and TADA's Dealers' Choice Magazine.

Dwayne has received numerous sales awards including the Houston Auto Show Salesman of the Year award, multiple Chevrolet Legion of Leaders and Chevrolet Truck Honor Club awards, and Mazda's Presidents Guild award.

Dwayne's goal is to provide skills and direction for the next generation of automotive professionals. He hopes to inspire his students to achieve the same type of success that he has been able to enjoy throughout his career.


 

Tony Dupaquier, Director of F&I Training

Tony Dupaquier
As Director of F&I Training for American Financial & Automotive Services, Inc.'s Automotive Training Academy, Tony is responsible for the content, direction and marketing for the F&I University curriculum. Tony conducts various F&I workshops throughout the year in locations nationwide.

Tony earned a Communications degree from Sam Houston State University prior to beginning his retail automotive career in 1990 as a salesperson in Houston, TX. Before joining the American Financial team in 2000, Tony held the positions of salesperson, business manager, fleet sales manager, sales manager, and general manager.

Throughout his retail sales career, Tony was consistently a top producer as well as a multi-year recipient of numerous manufacturer awards. In 1995, Tony earned the prestigious title of Nissan National Walk-Around Champion.

As a member of the Automotive Training Academy team, Tony has presented to various 20 groups, state and national dealer associations, and was featured as a workshop presenter at the 2009 NADA Convention in New Orleans, LA. and the 2010 NADA Convention in Orlando, FL.



Jennifer Teel, Training Promotions Specialist

Jennifer Teel
As a key member of the training staff, Jennifer is responsible for maintaining the Automotive Training Academy training database, coordinating all training workshops, providing outstanding customer service to students, and coordinating the marketing initiatives. Jennifer graduated in 2007 from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelors of Business Administration focusing on Marketing and Management.
